Change in the composition of the Board of Directors of KBC Group: Elisa Vlerick succeeds Baron Philippe Vlerick

Brussels, 7 May 2026 (2 p.m. CEST)

At the General Meeting on 7 May 2026, it was proposed that Elisa Vlerick be appointed as a new director for a term of four years. She succeeds Baron Philippe Vlerick, whose term of office as a director was due to end following the General Meeting.

Philippe Vlerick has been a non-executive director on the Board of Directors of KBC Group and a representative of the core shareholders since 2005.

Koenraad Debackere, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KBC Group: ‘It is with great appreciation that I would like to thank Philippe Vlerick for his long-standing commitment, passionate entrepreneurial vision and constructive contributions to KBC's strategic direction. His insights, experience and continued commitment as a shareholder have been of significant value to our Board and our organisation. As an experienced businessman, he always knew how to link challenges in the financial sector to economic realities, helping shape KBC’s strategic policy. I would also like to give a warm welcome to Elisa Vlerick. The combination of her legal expertise and in-depth knowledge of investing in forward-looking, innovative companies, technology and governance are a perfect match for KBC Group’s ambitions and long-term strategy.’

Elisa Vlerick studied law and also holds an MBA from IMD (Lausanne). She started her career as a lawyer at Allen & Overy before gaining experience in international corporate and investment roles at other companies, including Novartis and SGS. Since 2020, she has been a partner at Ninepointfive Ventures, a venture capital fund specialising in industrial technology and corporate venturing. Elisa Vlerick holds several directorships. Since 2024, she has also been a director at K&H Bank, a subsidiary of KBC Group in Hungary, where she sits on the Risk & Compliance Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

This appointment serves as a continuation of KBC Group’s commitment to ensure that the composition of the Board of Directors is balanced, with complementary expertise, strong profiles, international experience and strong anchoring with the core shareholders. Elisa Vlerick will sit on the Board of KBC Group as a non-executive director, representing the core shareholders in the same manner as her predecessor.
