Limit contactless payment without PIN code will be increased as from 14 April.

More and more consumers and shopkeepers are discovering in these corona times that contactless payment is not only fast, easy and safe, but also the most hygienic way to pay. That is why Febelfin and its members, including KBC, KBC Brussels and CBC Banque, have decided to raise the limits for contactless card payments without a PIN code to 50 euros as from 14 April.

Today, more than ever, digital is the new normal, and contactless payment is one of the tools for further curbing the spread of the coronavirus. In order to have even less contact with the keypad contactless payment without a PIN code becomes possible for payments below or equal to 50 euros. Only after a series of payments exceeding 100 euros the PIN code will have to be registered.
